It was a peaceful day in Brooklyn, New York, where eight-year-old Allen F. Jones was playing catch with his twin brother, Mathieu Williams. He whipped the baseball as hard as he could, but Matt managed to catch it with ease, causing Oliver Kirkland, who was watching on the sidelines, applaud loudly. "Oh, what a remarkable catch, Mathieu! And a perfect pitch, Allen! Simply splendid!"

Allen scowled and turned to the British nine-year-old, "You know, Ollie, this is why you can't fuckin' play. Because you're lame as fuck and have to give everybody all these lame ass compliments. Just shut up and watch." Yup. Even back then, Allen was an asshole. This earned him a pout from Oliver, who slumped down on the cement porch step and watched them play silently.

Turning back to Matt, Allen clapped his fist into his glove. "Come on, Matty, don't hold back!" He teased, and before he could do anything, there was a baseball slamming into his mouth. He fell backwards and held his mouth, already feeling the blood loss and absence of three teeth. "Motherfucker!" He shrieked, his voice high pitched and furious. He stood up and stomped over to his brother, getting in his face. "What the fuck was that for?!"

"I told you not to call me that, dickwad." Matt told him, shoving him away before raising his fists. "Shove me again, and I'll knock out more."

"You wanna go?!" Allen hollered, raising his own fists as he bounced on his heels in preparation of kicking his brother's ass again. "Francious! Get prepared to keep score! I'm winning by five so far!"

Francious Bonnefoy rolled his eyes and laid back on the sidewalk, closing his eyes. "Oui, whatever. I wished we had some fucking chicks here." His nine-year-old body didn't exactly know what to do with a girl if he had one, but according to his drunkard of a father, they made everything better.

Just as Matt and Allen were going to swing at one another, there was a sweet, rather high-pitched voice that interrupted them. "Are you guys playing baseball?" The boys froze, all going to look at the girl who was smiling at them, her (h/c) hair tucked under her (f/c) baseball cap. She was missing one of her two front teeth and she wore a jersey for the Red Sox, which went down to her knees. Her jeans were torn at the knees and had grass stains in various places. She wore sneakers that looked rugged and worn, but she still had the brightest eyes any of them had ever seen. "Well, are you playing baseball, or not?"

They regained their composure and Allen ran the back of his hand against his mouth, only succeeding in smearing the blood. "Yeah we are. What's it to you?"

Now the girl had a mega-watt smile. "Great! I'm Y/n! Can I play?" Oliver went to accept her into their group, but Allen scoffed and shook his head.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You? Play baseball? AHAHAHAHAHAHA! But you're a girl! Girls don't play baseball!" Allen was rolling on the ground laughing now, tears streaming down his face from laughing too hard. Y/n had her hands on her hips, frowning down at him.

"Yes they do!" She told him angrily, stomping her foot. Her face was turning red from embarrassment and all she wanted to do was punch that stupid boy in his ugly face!

Allen stood up and shook his head, "Nope. They don't. You're wrong."

"AM NOT!" She shrieked.

"ARE TOO!"

"AM NOT!"

"ARE TOO!"

"AM NOT!"

"ARE TOO!"

"Fine, you jerk, I'll prove it! This Saturday, baseball game at ten a.m. You bring your..." She hesitated, looking over the motley crew and sniffing in disgust, "team, and I'll bring mine! If I win, you have to declare me the Baseball Queen of the Universe and tell everyone that you're a stupid, ugly, no baseball talent loser who lost to a girl!" Her hands were on her hips in defiance and the boys, excluding Allen, gasped. She just continued to glare at him, while he glared back.

He rolled his eyes at her request, "Whatever. I'll win anyway, so no biggie. And if I win, you have to tell everyone that you're just a fake baseball fan and you can never play baseball again!"

Now everyone, including Y/n, gasped. "F-Fine!" She stammered, a truly red blush on her cheeks this time. "See you on Saturday, loser." Y/n turned on her heel and stomped off, already preparing to bring in her friends from her old school to have the best baseball team on the planet.

Oliver walked up to Allen, looking nervous beyond all reason. "A-Are you sure you want to do this, Al? What if she wins?"

"She won't. She's a girl, after all. Girls can't play baseball!" Allen said firmly before looking at Francious and Matt. "Go get Viktor and Xiao, tell them we're playing some baseball on Saturday." He turned to Oliver, "You need practice. Come to the backyard with me, we've got a lot of work to do."

~Over with Y/N~

Y/n continued to stomp as she made her way to her house, knowing that she and her all girl team can kick that brat's butt any day. The trouble is getting them to play, because they're in (hometown) and that's kinda far so they might not make it in time. As she continued to walk, something abruptly hit her in the back of the head and she fell down. "Ow~!" She whimpered, holding her head in pain.

"Omigosh I'm so sorry!" A blond boy with a curl on the left side of his head bounced up to her, kneeling in his white suit that for some reason an eight-year-old was wearing. "I-a didn't mean to! Me and Gillen were just tossing the baseball-a and I hit you! I'm so sorry!"

Sitting up slowly, Y/n took in this boy. He had pink eyes hidden slightly by his glasses and a bright smile that slightly unnerved her. She could see some boys walking up behind him, all curious about the girl that they accidently knocked down.

"What did you do, stupid?" A grumpy looking boy asked, and his resemblance to this blond boy surprised her for a moment before she regained her composure. He had dark red, almost brown, hair and reddish-purple eyes that squinted as he looked at her. He had a frown on his face, but she could still see his perfect teeth. He was wearing a tan short sleeve and greasy jeans, his hair a bit messy but otherwise perfect. The first boy looked up at him and got a blush on his face, quickly explaining what happened to him as well.

Another boy came to the right side of Y/n, peering at the injury on her head. "Well, it's not bleeding." He told the group, and Y/n turned to look at him as well. He had black hair and dark brown eyes, a smirk on his lips as his fingers ran over her head. He peered down at her, "You have very soft hair."

Y/n didn't know what to do. "I-uh, thank you?" She was blushing as they all stared at her intently.

"You guys, we're scaring her." A soft, half caring voice said from behind the scary, grumpy one. He was the tallest of them, with short, blond hair and a scar running along the right side of his face. He had a black muscle tank and stained jeans, his arms crossed and resting right below a German Iron Cross. He knelt to Y/n's level, holding out a hand to her. "I'm Lutz." Y/n took it, expecting a handshake but yelping in surprise when he yanked her up and crumpled in his arms. She stood up on her own and brushed herself off. Lutz continued to name off his companions. "This is Flavio," he informed as he pointed at the blond boy, "and this is his twin, Luciano." That was the scary boy, who was just looking at her intently. "The one who inspected your head is Kuro, don't get too close to him or he'll violate you." Kuro gave Y/n a creepy smile and she stepped away from him, shaking in nervousness.

"And I'm forgettable Gillen." A voice murmured from behind her, causing her to squeal in surprise and whirl around to see a boy with white hair and purple eyes. He had scars all over his face and wore a large hoodie, even though it was the middle of summer and like 100 degrees.

Flavio bounced over to her, wrapping an arm around her and cooing. "Aww, she's so cute! Are you new here, bella?"

"Yeah, I moved from (hometown) two days ago. Already got in a fight." Their eyes raised and so Y/n told them the story of what happened with Allen.

Luciano scoffed, "That stupid bastardo. He should know better than to fuck with girls."

Y/n nodded enthusiastically. "I know, right! I'm gonna kick his ass....that is, if I can find a good team in time. I dunno if my team can come from (hometown) to beat them up."

Lutz shook his head, "Nonsense, we'll help you beat them."

"R-Really?!" Y/n asked, a bright smile climbing onto her face.

With a nod, Kuro wrapped an arm around her waist and nuzzled into her neck. "Defiantly. We hate those guys."

The only girl among them squirmed out of his grasp and grinned before clapping her hands together. "Alright then! We're gonna have to practice first, though!"

~Saturday. 9:35 a.m ~

"A-Are you sure you don't want to call off this dreadful game, Al?" Oliver asked, wringing his hands together as he looked at the team they had. All looked bored or uninterested, except Allen, who looked ready to murder.

He quickly turned to Oliver, who jumped at the sudden action. "And look like a sissy because of some new girl? No way!" He put his baseball bat over his shoulder and looked back to the boys, giving them a 'Come on, men!' before trotting towards the baseball field. The boys all followed, Xiao tossing a baseball in the air as he went.

Y/n was already there, munching on an apple as she waited. She had the same baseball cap on, but a new-looking baseball uniform with the name "Brooklyn Axis" on the front. She was sitting on the edge of the dugout, the only person out there that Allen could see. He laughed and nudged the guys before pointing at her sitting by herself, which made all of them laugh as well.

"Look guys! She thinks she can beat us all by herself!" Allen leered, but Y/n threw her apple core at him and rolled her eyes.

She jumped up and stretched her arms, giving the other boys a glimpse of the girl they were going to go against. Viktor looked a bit nervous, as did Xiao, but they both rolled their eyes when they saw how tall she was. "No, dummy, although I could beat you by myself. Who do you think made my fabulous looking uniform? Because, unlike you guys, at least we look like a team."

Suddenly five boys hopped up from the dugout and snarled at the other team. Although these boys were jokesters around each other, and now Y/n, they truly hated the people who would become the Allies and unified together through their hatred. Flavio flounced over to Y/n, hugging her tightly. "Thank you for complementing them, bella! They took me all night to make!"

Each boy, and the one girl, on the Brooklyn Axis team had a baseball bat and Y/n had the baseball. Their names were carved into the handle of the baseball bats and they each looked ready to kill.

Oliver gulped and took a step back, but Matt shoved him forward. "We'll beat you guys just fine!" Allen said, puffing out his chest and giving Y/n a death glare. She returned it.

"We'll see about that, boy-o. Rock, paper, scissors to see who bats first." Y/n sneered, and she and Allen stepped towards each other. Both had scissors, both had rock, but then Al chose scissors when she chose rock. She motioned for her team to get ready at the batting plate as Al had his team scatter on the field. Xiao was pitcher, Allen was short-stop, Oliver was in the outfield, Matt was on first, Francious was on second, and Viktor was on third. Xiao winked at the first batter, who happened to be Lutz. "Ready, boys? And girl." He nodded to Y/n, who nodded back.

"Let's.....PLAY BALL!" Y/n cried out, and the game began.

Xiao pitched the ball to Lutz, who swung and missed, causing Al to call out, "Strike one!" Lutz shook his head as Y/n patted his back and murmured encouragingly to him. He prepared himself again, and when Xiao whipped the ball at him a second time, he hit it.

It flew in the air and went out of sight for a moment before coming back down near Oliver. He shrieked and went for the ball, only to drop it and fumble trying to re-grab it. He tossed it to Matt, as Lutz was on his way there, but it fell short and Lutz made it to first base.

Allen rolled his eyes, "Lucky hit. But," and this part he was addressing to his comrades, "Y/n's up next and she's a girl so we'll do just fine!"

"I wouldn't be so sure of that." Y/n growled, getting into batting position and nodding to Xiao, signaling she was ready. He gave her a fast ball, but she swung with all her might and the bat cracked against the ball, sending that baseball far past everyone and against the home run fence.

Her team cheered before shouting out that it was a home run. Y/n winked at Al, whose mouth was hanging open. "Ready to give up, loser?" Then she began to run the bases, causing Lutz to run and them to get two home runs.

The game, not to either teams' surprise, was not a close call at all. Y/n's team dominated them and she had forced Allen to do exactly what they agreed on, which he did, bitterly. Everyone, Y/n told them, was invited to her house for cookies from her mom. It became a race as to who would get there first and get the most cookies. Gillen, surprisingly, won and Y/n's mom gave him two as a reward.

The sun was finally going down, the soon-to-be Allies going to their homes as their moms wanted them home for dinner. The Brooklyn Axis team was planning on having a sleep over in Y/n's tree house to celebrate their victory, and most had already climbed up with the extra cookies Y/n's parents gave them. The only two kids still not where they were going were Allen and Y/n, who were both sitting on Y/n's front porch.

Allen scuffed his toe along the ground before looking up at Y/n. "I-I'm sorry." He mumbled, and Y/n blinked at him.

"For what?"

"Making fun of you, and stuff. You sure can play baseball, for a girl at least."

Y/n laughed quietly and nodded, "Thanks. You can play baseball pretty good, too. For a boy, at least." Then she gave him a kiss on the cheek and stood up, preparing to go meet the BAs for their sleep over.

Just as she turned, Al called her name. "Y/n?" She turned, but before she could do anything, his lips were on hers. He held her face for a moment before pulling away, a heavy blush on his cheeks. "I-I-uh-I gotta go." And then he took off, the blush not leaving his, or Y/n's cheeks, for the rest of the night.

"LAME!" Y/n's son cringed at the same time as his sister saying, "CUTE!" Both were in their beds, their mother in the middle as she had a hand on each of their beds. Her son, whose name was Brooklyn, had a pout on his face as he looked at his mom. "Do you have to tell that story so much? It's gross! Especially when they kiss!"

His sister, Ally, shook her head. "Well, I think it's cute! Didn't that actually happen too, Mama, huh? Didn't it?"

Y/n smiled and nodded, "It did. And I think it's cute, too, Alls." She kissed each of their foreheads before flicking off the lamp on the night stand between them. "Now, try to get some sleep."

"Mama?" Brooklyn asked, "When are Uncle Luciano and Lutz and Flavio and Gillen coming over?"

"And what about Uncle Matt and Ollie?" Ally asked, causing Y/n to laugh.

"Soon, because it'll be your daddy's birthday before too long. He's getting so old!"

Two arms wrapped around Y/n's waist and kissed her neck a few times before laughing quietly. "Am not. Good night, kiddos."

"Night Daddy!" They said in unison, something Y/n could never figure out how they did.

She was led out of the bedroom, closing the door behind them, before being pinned to the hallway wall. Allen kissed her neck up and down, a grin on his lips. "Nice choice of story, doll face."

"It's a classic." She teased, breathing lightly. "Now, you better quit it because we don't have enough rooms in this house for another kid."

"We'll make room." He told her, kissing her deeply before leading her into their room, closing the door on the hallway that held her baseball cap from all those years ago.
